We then incorporate the primary feature of the patent pending Spiral Shaver™ technology. For years we have told customers to use a rotary motion while shaving with the ES412 because as the foil moves across the skin in a circular fashion the slots in the shaving foil are allowed to present multiple attack angles to the hair, greatly improving the likelihood that the hair will be captured by the foil and cut. It was found that this motion could be induced in the shaver by adding a small weight to the blade assembly. When the blade assembly spins it produces, what at first glance appears to be, a vibrating shaver (not necessarily a bad thing.) But on closer examination it became apparent that as the weight spun around on the blade assembly it pulled the head of the shaver in small circles, which as the shaver is pulled across the skin, produces a spiral travel pattern which duplicates and greatly improves the advantages gained by using a spiral motion manually. After enthusiastic responses from our test group (all of whom were ES412 users) we incorporated this feature into our new Stellar Personal Shaver™ line.

We didn't stop there. We developed a new Motor Mount Cap Assembly, which incorporates a fixed 85,000 RPM sealed ball bearing which encloses the driveshaft assembly, connecting the motor and the blade assembly. This "Bounce Bearing" immediately dampens any flexing of the driveshaft, effectively doubling the life of the foil.

Hair is actually very hard to cut; its shear strength is equal to a copper wire of the same diameter. Lesser shavers can bind (partially cut) hairs that snag in the foil resulting in a painful pull. The answer is a high torque motor that has the power to "push through" and complete the cut. The Stellar Shaver™ is powered by a Japanese manufactured micro-motor, which combines low speed (5040 rpm working) for superior hair pickup, with high torque (54 g-cm stall) for complete, positive cutting action of hard to cut "personal area" hair - no pinching or pulling from partially cut hairs.
